Yep! It ran the rapids! I had anticipated the possibility and used a rubber band to attach a small piece of foam to the bottom of the camera mount board...which hangs under the copter. That may have saved me!
The quadcopter is fine. I had to take the cam apart and dry it a bit, but it seems to work fine now!
I want to see the data from the flight data recorder. Thinking pilot error here.

No, this was el-cheapo WL toys v262, but with a nice cam (called Mobius) on it.

The flying sucked cause I was too nervous - I didn't plan the adventure or I would have went on a day with no wind and tied long balloons or foam on as landing skids, etc.
Realistically, these falls should be shot with a semi-pro outfit supplied with some of the better sensors (sonar, etc.).
The neat thing about those falls is they are so long and so deep in the woods that a proper picture of the whole thing cannot be taken. When you are there in person you notice all the little side waterfalls and pools, etc. - and the video does show some of that view, which is cool.

I was amazed how much there was to see on those falls. A good high shot to give it some perspective would have been nice to have. Still, very nice.

Nice. We have to try one of those. My kids will like that. Son is getting into building model cars. And we just built a small rocket together. Second one of those. He has to get it painted and finished up a bit. Then it will be time to send it up for a ride. This one will go higher than the last. He is excited to get it done.
I liked the falls a lot. Looks like a great spot to visit. However, I think I will walk it and skip the drone ride.
