I was just trying to make a point that some parts are overly priced for what they are and replacements are and can be found elsewhere cheaper. Fans and auger motors at Grainger and Nebraska surplus.

Yep, Most of the Harman parts have the Grainger numbers right on them.

As for the igniter on the Enviro, I'm not sure I'd risk a $180 igniter on a $10 air pump without testing its output first. Too low a volume and you risk burnout. But a big enough pump should work. Heck we might even be able to use a PC45 igniter if its cheaper? But I'm handy and can make brackets if I had to. ;)

Ouputs on the pumps are stated as well. The pump for the local Chinese Buffets 200 gallon or so aquarium would probably do.:)

I PhotoShopped a couple of rough overlays of each insert with my mantle. Feel free to share your opinion. m55.jpg accentra.jpg

You Harman guys are impossible! I bet the M55 is a quieter stove than the 52i unless Harman has made some HUGE changes. Harmans are loud compared to the M55 or a Mt. Vernon (verified with an SPL meter). Harman claims the 52i is quieter than the OLD Accentra, not other brand stoves.

Ozymandias, I was stuck between the M55 and Mt Vernon and the cost of the igniter on the M55 tipped the scale for me. $235 vs $68 for the Quad. I'm not sure what a Harman igniter costs, but I would assume it is less than the M55. That is something to consider. The M55 makes a gurgling sound when it starts up as well which bothered me. That being said, I would probably still go for the Enviro over the Harman, but that's just me.
two different kinds of ignition systems. one passive, one forced. The passive one fails more often (AE)

I like the look of the 52i more in the opening but I like the M55 as a unit better. Hard call. Understand that you will look at the unit about .0004% of the time it will actually be installed and running. Questions should really be relegated to ergonomics...how you will actually interact with it.

Harman has a much better thought out docking station if you plan on using an OAK. It automatically connects the OAK and exhaust when you roll the stove back and lock it. Enviro forgot about this and theirs only connects the exhaust. It's up to you to figure out how to connect the OAK which could be a major pain depending on access behind the stove after it is rolled back. Mine is easy since I can get to it from outside the house. I would be curious if you could tell which stove was quieter when they were running side by side? Don't know if Harman changed the location of their convection blower(s) but have read posts about what a pain it is to get to for cleaning since it is under the stove. As far as heating capability...the M55 will blow the Harman away when operating at high. But, most don't do this as pellet consumption is extreme. If Quad would put the Mt Vernon on rollers and do away with the auto dump burn pot, that would be something I would seriously look at. I wouldn't want to have to deal with SLIDING a 400lb stove out every time you need to do maintenance.

If you want the square look for the suround, but like the enviro performance, jut get the hampton GCI 60. It is the same stove and has a squared suround. I got the gci because of the suround, and it was a few hundy cheaper as well.

I cant post a pic of mine for some reason....but it looks great with a similiar square mantle like you have.

Stove is a beast. Love it.

That's a good point about the OAK hook-up that I was unaware of. Regarding the sound, they were very comparable in the short time I listened to each of them. It is difficult since we were listening to them in a bay with the garage door open. The outdoor sounds made it difficult to hear each precisely. That being said, I've seen videos of the older accentra running and the fan made a noticeable noise. The new accentra was not nearly as loud as this during the time I heard it running.

Regarding the OAK hookup on the M55...it may not be a big deal if you are putting the stove in a fireplace and going vertical with the exhaust and OAK. You could hook the OAK up with some flex metal dryer hose and have enough slack to be able to slide the stove out. My OAK goes straight out the back wall with only about 12" or so of room between the back of the stove and the exterior wall. So, not much room to store slack piping. I have to remove the vent on the exterior wall and then pull the hose out enough to undo the hose clamp holding the hose to the vent. Then I can slide the stove out and the hose just slides along with it. Easy enough, but Enviro should have incorporated a dock for the OAK.
