Hi Guys, I need some opinions, First off I'm a terrible typist. So i bought a new fireveiw in July and it's still setting in the crate. I rebuilt my hearth & refaced my fire place, Pics later. Bought the liner from woodstock also 6''X20'
Flex kit. I have a 15' chimney in center of house, about 4' above the roof line it' has an 8'' x 8'' Terracotta pipe
inside diameter 7'' x 7'' I rigged up a devise to knock off the morter the liner still won't go down. The liners are offset just enough to stop the liner. So i called Woodstock and they said i could go with a 5.5'' liner so i think i have the liner sold and i would go with the 5.5'' Flex king Pro.I called my local sweep and they said 300.00 to bust out the terracotta. I like the sounds of the Flex King Pro. What do you think? Great Site i leaned alot reading on here the last couple years. Yes i started getting wood last year, 6 cords.:)
I guess my Biggest concern is from 6'' down to 5.5'' although woodstock said it would be Okay.

With either liner you are probably going to have to a have a pulling cone to get through the offset. If you aren't insulating the liner you shouldn't have to have the tiles knocked out.

Hi, Thanks I was using a cone. Can't get it past the first seem on the terracotta.

The first seam from the top or the bottom? The top one shouldn't be that bad to get around, since the liner is barely inserted and you can still move it around a bit. Did you try rotating the liner around so that it's curl is going away from the sticking point? Do you have a helper? I had trouble like this too, but I had more room to work with (12 x 12" flue.) I ended up getting it past the sticking points with a long piece of 1 x 2" that I wedged flat between the end of the liner and the tile, then rotated the 1 x 2" so that it moved the liner away from the tile just enough to get unstuck. If it proves impossible, or you're just done trying with the 6", the 5.5" should be fine. Stoves almost twice the size of the Fireview with much higher output and more exhaust run 6" flues, so I don't think the Fireview really needs 6". . . + Woodstock says so.==c

Also, I think that if you do remove the tiles, code will then require insulation on the liner.
