plumbing_Page_3.png I'm getting ready to add a plate heat exchanger between my Wood Boiler 40K BTU and my ancient oil boiler.

Currently there is hot water storage and I am concerned about 2 specs.

1) how large of an exchanger should I purchase?
2) What are the side effects of the pressure drop across the heat exchanger?

Thanks for the advice

What boiler did you have that will need a plate heat exchanger?
I've got a tarm solo 55mb 138,000 btu. I'm looking for a simple storage solution that will get me just a little bit ahead of the curve.

This morning I'm revisiting CWCoils again. My tank is only good for about 170,00 BTU.
But thats at least a solid day of heat that I can add to the house.

I see hot supply water going from the wood side to the oil side, and cold return water going from the wood side to the oil side.

I don't think that will work.

But maybe I'm not seeing things right, it has me kind of confused.

Two automags?

I think the intent is charging pump and a drawing pump.
Is the presence of a pump enough?
