Good day

Just had a Lennox Grandview installed and first fire. Not to many people with this stove so thought I would share some pictures. As I am new to wood burning for heat I have been scouring the forums for quite some time and finally decided to pull the trigger and sign up.

Welcome!. The stove looks great. That's a big window on the Grandview. Thanks for posting. Be sure to let us know your impressions as the heating season warms up. Where are you hailing from?

Will definitely update with impressions once I log some hours on her and the weather cools down. I am located up in Whitehorse Yukon so I should get some great use out of it.

Wow, you are way up north. Looking forward to future reports.

Looks like a big stove, how big is the box?

No blower only on day two but it appears to convect enough heat for our house.

The 230 has a 2.3 cubic ft fire box

Lennox also bought up Country stoves out of Auburn, WA. We have a lot more reports on that line of stoves.

I was quite taken with this stove when I was looking last year. Darn near got one. Let us know your impressions after some time with it. It doesn't get a lot of attention here, probably because it's pretty new.

Nice. Love big honkin steel stoves.

They are thermal fins. I got to look at the Grandviews up close at HPBexpo and liked their construction and attention to detail. The thermal fins look like they will extract good heat for convection.

That posting was from last September. It does look like an OAK though.

New to the forum here. I just hooked up the Grandview 230 two days ago. The heat output has been great two days in. I have a question on the damper - when it is closed do you still get some airflow into the firebox?

Yep. EPA certification testing requires that it can't be shut all the way down and smolder the fire.

Welcome aboard and very nice set up!

Thanks for the quick response. I'll definately be checking the site here for tips on how to best operate the GV 230. The upstairs of my house is 2500sq ft and before putting in the GV my heat source upstairs was propane. The living room which has 15ft ceilings would only get up to 62-63 degrees - the 2nd night of using the GV and it was up to 72 in the room. Warm house = Happy Wife

Came home from work and had a decent amount of buildup (creosote) on the glass. Loaded up the wood stove around 7pm and got it burning hot - most of the buildup was gone by morning. If it is doing this on the glass do you think it is doing the same in the chimney?
