8+ hours today of a steady downpour. Sweeeeet.

Not.

First good rain in months.

This couldn't happen on a Tuesday??? Ha!

That's what is predicted for tomorrow here. Wish it could wait until Monday.

Steady since noon and still going. The inside/outside kitty is sitting here giving me the "It is all your fault look.".

Left us a few hours ago ..all day rain.. did burn some brush piles thou !

We are forcast to receive about 2 inches over the next day and a half. I appreciate later in the fall (before the ground freezes) to help increase the water table for the winter. But I don't like it this time of the year: a nice 65 F and full sun makes for nice yardwork days...

Is it ok to get hay in the rain? No concern about it starting to rot and compost?

1200 to 1300lbs chef..Its not here long enough to go bad begreen >> The fella that buys it every year uses this stuff right away plus he has a bunch of his own that is wrapped and is used later in the winter.

We must have caught the edge of it, poured overnight but cleared out already. Good timing as I dethatched and fertilized the backyard yesterday so this should kickstart the grass recovering.

Our grass is back with a vengeance. I've already have had to mow it and it will be due again next weekend. All it took were a couple moderate rainfalls. I don't dare feed it!

In our case we have a bad creeping Charley infestation that's taking over the lawn. Lots of dead spots due to it. I'm doing a multistep process to try and knock it back some...

Heavy dethatch to pull out as much of it and remove dead growth
fertilizer to strengthen the grass so it fills back in
Much as I hate to, spot treating the remaining vine with weed b gone ( we have tried everything to avoid herbicides with zero luck )
Then a heavy overseed and fertilizer in spring
