I usually get these for others, but this one has me. White or red oak? No leaves for ID.

Sorry about pic. It can still be viewed. Can somebody turn that pic for me?

Probably red, could be white, they are very close.

Just downloaded it, put it into Paint and rotated it. Pretty quick and simple.

The word "just" is confusing to me when it comes to pictures. Paint? I"ll talk to my children. They can help.;lol

Okay, click on the picture to bring up the normal size. Right click on the picture and choose, "Save Image As." Give it a name and it should save into your Pictures folder.

Then in Programs, click on Paint (comes with all Windows OP). Then open the file you just saved, rotate it then save it with the same name. Then you simply "Upload a File" like you did when you loaded the first one only now it will come up the right way.

Other picture programs will work pretty much the same. I just chose to mention Paint because pretty much all of us have it on the computer.

White bark will be flaky, like Shagbark, further up, but can be pretty rough near the base. But that to me looks like Red lower on the trunk. Further up the trunk and branches, Red often has lighter-colored flat plates. Here are some Google images of Red that I found....

you should start a photobucket (photobucket.com) account. it's easy to use. just click on upload and it pulls up your picture folder and then you select the ones you want. once it's uploaded click the picture, and you'll see an edit button, then click what you want done, such as rotate, resize, crop, etc. to post the picture, click on the picture on photobucket, and a menu on the right pops up, click on direct link and it automatically copies it, so you just have to paste it into the image box here.

white oak around me always has bark like this for most of the tree, so i also agree with the red oak suggestions.
