These things are HOT! Can only hold your hand in front of the blower for a second or two. Calling today to order a ton. Seems that they make more of a light fluffy gray ash as opposed to the heavier, sooty ash that I got last year from FSU (which worked out great for me). Pic to prove it happened.....

And neither am I! I purchased a few bags the other day and burned them for about an hour Tues. morning. It was hard to unscientifically gauge the heat, with such a short burn, but it didn't seem half bad. There is definitely a grayish fluffy ash, but otherwise might be a good deal for the price.

When I got my two bags, they had only a ton on hand and were taking orders, so sorry I also cannot divulge the location until I can decide if it's worth putting in an order. I hope this place does well!!

Oh yes I did.....too many possibilities. I can wait....I'm closer than most of you.....patience....

Guess this is what I get for mentioning them. Just talked to them and they are completely sold out and won't have any for a couple of weeks. You pigs make me sick :)

I tried to warn ya!

Or is it you bought every stinkin ton they had so we couldn't even try them? Hmmmmmm!
I spoke to the person who is making these pellets this morning. Currently they have less than a ton on hand and rarely have any more than that. It is a one man operation, with one machine and he can only make about a 1 or 1 1/2 tons a week. So bottom line is a person can't really buy multiple tons at once, for it will probably be rare for him to have more than one ton on hand, especially when the vultures here begin to descend upon the place!! They do not plan on expanding, as the owner has no plans to purchase additional machinery.

At any rate I fired them up again this AM and I am impressed at the heat, but they are definitely a bit ashy. Bottom line though, I would probably buy a few tons if possible, but do due the distance from me (45 minutes), I will probably buy 10 -20 bags at a time, if available, when I am in the area.

It's September, anything that will burn puts out good heat .................

I guess I am a little confused. All the threads I have read on making your own pellets say it is not cost effective on a small scale. Here is a one man operation selling all he can make. I wonder what type of investment he has in his equipment and the hours it takes him to make the pellets. How much is he charging for the pellets?

I know this place, they are a cabinet maker. Their waste company will no longer take sawdust so they take their waste sawdust and make pellets. A win win in my eyes.
