Looks like you are only stacking 3ft tall in that first picture. Stack to 4 or 4.5ft and you'll store a lot more

The wood shed is 4.5 feet I'm actually gonna build a 20\ 10 which will hold about 7 1/2 cords

When you say wood shed, you are referring to the one with pallets? If that is 4.5ft, those rakes must be huge.

If you're running short on room you might have to double or triple stack.

I used between 3 and 4 last year - probably closer to 3 but I don't measure all that closely. Last year wasn't too bad down here so law of averages (and Farmer's Almanac!) say I will probably use more this year.

Nice Blades. Take one, put one back. I like that!

I haven't found anything cheap enough to use that will last a couple years. Plus I do not want something that will become unsightly in short order . I might try 90# roofing felt. Wood pile tarps are too wide and hang down over the sides too far plus around here only last about a year. there is half again as much in some other sections. That section is for 16/17 or so heating season. Estimate of 40 yards long avg 5ft high 4ft deep, about 15 cords mixed hardwoods 60% locust, There is a pile of willow on the end of that ,not in pic , about a cord+ worth I am using now as its shoulder season.

How many cords do u have in total ? I guess time will tell how cold it gets. Bring it on

My thoughts exactly - bring on the cold! I love winter - it's the only season of the year I don't seem to sweat a lot!

I have 20 cords total at this time - enough for 4 fairly cold winters here at least (hopefully).

I agree . I love working outside when it's nice and cool. You got enough wood and it's always about getting more and more...

Someone in another thread asked when is it enough, simple answer Never! If you always replace what you used + a bit things tend to stack up. If the local Gestapo get their shorts in a bind, well then its a nice bank account.
