I can't find any info on prune trees. I'm looking for a BTU rating? Have 20 AC avail. Anyone have any rating ?

I guess that prune trees are really plum trees. Plum is related to cherry, which means the wood will be similar to cherry, and pretty good firewood. The question is how branchy and twisted the trees will be. The shape of the tree won't reduce the quality of the wood, but may make it harder to cut, split, and stack.

I just checked a fairly comprehensive USDA document listing properties of various species. Like Wood Duck suggested, it treats most plum species as being just like cherry.

I would think that someone would have the BTU rating on all trees, but I guess it's an over kill if a lot of them have the same property's .
