I have a cresote buildup on the the Accenture front door below the glass.I am trying to find out possible causes and ideas that may correct the problem.

i have seen a technical bulletin about air leaking from the bottom of the air wash bar (is the beam on the inside of the stove just below the glass when you open the front door). As i recall a bead of RTV along the bottom seam of the bar was the fix. Cheap, and low tech.

You definitely have an air leak some where. Find and fix the leak and you should be good to go.

yup- what he sez....Air Wash Seal – Accentra 72908 (last modified on 3/25/2013)---for all those dealers who have access to HHT.com site

Not to jack the thread, but would buildup on the glass indicate this as well? The buildup is almost like heavy ash, and sometimes I need to take a razor blade to get it off (I know I'm not supposed to, but it's the only thing that gets it off).

the OP specifically mentioned BELOW the glass.......try glass rangetop cleaner to clean your glass.....your COLD glass......buildup on the glass would tend to indicate poor combustion (if its a heavy residue)

Many thanks for the fast responses! Where would I obtain RTV? Hardware store stock the item?

Is this a bar that is about 2 inches below the glass? I thought it as jus a decoration.
