So Cent ALASKA
Double row, 12" between.
Leaned rows together to close off the top to keep the snow out.

Good stuff BD. Nice use of the black plastic, should help during mud season .
EDIT- looks like you've been getting some rain up there.

Rain rain & more rain. I split in the rain, stack in the rain. Use dry days to get another load of wood.

Tis mud season. Back low area was filled in & leveled with overburden (Top soil above gravel) from a job near by.
seeded but not gonna make much grass this year. Can't even drive on it.

Ground cloth is to keep the pallets (semi) clean & out of the mud.
I'm laying boards down to walk on for stacking now. Yucky day.
The old carpet in the splitting area is wet but I'm out of the mud.

May need to add some gravel to the area if it don't firm up.

Birch is beautiful...very nice...

Beautiful views Dave. Not much birch down this way. I have one small load. Nice aroma when split too.
your backyard is like a postcard you used to see of Alaska.

Thanks all
Hope to split & stack the rest today, need to make room for a few more loads.
not raining (yet), but rained last night.
Cloudy 52°

The picture of the wood pile with the mountains in the background is just stunning!!! It must be so relaxing working outside with this view. Do you still appreciate it or do you not even notice it anymore?
P.S. Your BK stove must love this birch...
