I got the Ashford installed and have had a few fires in it so far. I thought I would start up a thread with some experiences and pics of it. I will keep updating as it gets colder out. I'm very impressed with it so far!

It has a lot of nice features. The cat probe now has a protective surround, not only protects it but it doesn't look so alone on top of the stove.
The ashpan doesn't have a latch and does not relay on a gasket to make the seal, it has a plug in the floor of the stove like the other BKs. So you can choose wether or not to use the pan.

Another neat thing is that the cast top is just sitting on top, so in a power outage it could be removed to expose the steel top for cooking.

It also has a steel cat that fires up in a very short time! Like 15 minutes after I started the fire!!

I see flame in that box... better turn the air down :p

Nice looking stove. Look forward to updates to this thread.

I think I still prefer the looks of my sirocco with leg kit, but it isn't a bad looking stove.

Looks great Webby ! Thanks for the visible pics ;)...............Its so nice to see a great looking Blaze King stove added to the line..............I'm foaming at the mouth waiting to get mine in brown enamel.
I Love the looks of this stove.

Its awesome to have that quick start up time on the stove Eh ? Don't know how Blaze King does it , but I like it.

Webby looks good, is the cat the same one the princess uses? I was wondering if they were going to have steel cats available for all BK's.

Nice!

If webby was truly dedicated to this, he would have also bought, and installed, a Sirocco 30, Chinook 30, and a Princess so we could all understand what the differences are. :)

Last night the load I ran was a small amount of very dry wood.
It fired up quick! This morning the glass was pretty clean and still had a good amount of wood left, all I had to do was open up the bypass for a few seconds and it fired up. That was 12.5 hrs. With a few pieces of cherry and poplar. The last pic is from this morning.

Nice, thanks for the update. When is the Ashford 20 due out?

That last picture is insane. Those things really have space age technology. How are they so far ahead of everyone else? I gotta get a Blaze King.

I see one very big difference, just from the photo. I think this was a great move for BK, their prime con having always been in the looks department.

Agreed, this is the first BK that my wife 'might' approve for the living room. She still prefers a stove door with some muntins. But overall this is a good step for BK and I hope it sells well for them. Webby, can you post a picture with the convective top off?

Nice looking stove! That is some crazy burn times

LOL Welcome to the club.

This is horrible. Now I want another stove. My list of stoves that I want to play with is growing.
I've gone 16 months without buying a stove! New record!

That just means you're due.

Honestly... I am thinking about buying one, not for this year, but perhaps next summer. I'm hoping a few members buy and test them in the interim. There's also that whole part of explaining to the wife, why I want to replace a stove we just bought and installed 10 months ago.

That's awesome, BUT, that does not look like just a small amount of wood. Looks like a considerable load to me.

The stove resembles the Lopi cape stove a bit. Will be nice to see haw it performs when it gets cold out. Man, that cat looks like it is raging!

I pull out the "when you are the one that loads the three stoves 99% of the time, then you can vote on whether or not we need a new stove" card. I have to be sure I am smiling when I say that, or things could get ugly.

What are the specs on that stove? The BK site is woefully behind in its presentation of this stove.
From what I can tell, it is the same size as the Chinook 30 and Princess. I think it uses the Chinook firebox.

So, heating capacity should be about the same as those two stove. I would assume the claimed burn times would be the same as the Chinook, but I don't know.
