I was cleaning my pellet stove today and I was using windex on the glass. Some of the windex got on the black finish and when I wen to wipe the windex off the black finish it came off completely, whats up with this?

Windex if it has ammonia may damage your glass if it's ceramic. Some stoves are not painted. Blackened iron that can easily be touched up with stove black.

Happened to all 3 of mine . ( I only use water ) a little light touch paint and you'll be good Togo !

The pix in THIS thread IMO are normal. If your firebox doesn't look ashy, scorched, dirty, or even rusty, you must have a brand new stove.

Rust is very normal ! Some damp rid will help . Just be sure and make yourself a big note ( don't want to cook it next season ! )

I'm saying what you're seeing in the pix in this thread is normal, IMO. Your other thread showing an area outside the firebox is not, but like I said, an easy fix. Clean it up with some steel wool, wipe with clean rag and give it a couple quick sprays with high temp satin black. Open a window for a few min to let the paint vapors out.
I know yer stove is basically brand new, but you have to expect some corrosion to occur in there. It's a volatile environment. Pellet vent is stainless inside for the same reason. It's possible the metal prep on your stove was lacking, causing the rust to appear sooner...but either way it's inevitable.
