I cleaned the outside pipe. I brushed the inside of the stove . Should I also clean the pipe that goes into the wall also

YES...I just did ours a couple weeks ago and the elbow in there was the dirties spot in the entire system
 
Yup. It all needs cleaning. An annual task that we usually do in the summer but it is easy to put it off until September...
 
ok thanks is there a soecial brush i should use

I just use a basic wire brush from the welding supply aisle at the hardware store.....and lots of soap and water to clean the hands and arms after
 
i just take mine off and clean it outside....way easier that way

That's what I do as well, usually in the spring/summer after burning is done for the season. The elbow can collect quite a bit of junk in there. I had an elbow like that years ago and it was recommended that I change to a 45 degree setup. Not sure if that's possible for you but it has helped me as all of the ash now just falls back into the stove.:)
