Does the stove blower help get it down the hall at all?

not much...like 67 degrees in the living room this morning...and 75 in tv room

Small fan on the floor in the hallway pointing towards the stove room. Try it in different parts of the hallway to see what works best.

I concur with you.
What the guy could do is hang some short strips of toilet paper from the doorways to see air movement.
Then walk around with a 1ft piece of tp and hold it 2ft up from the floor to see colder air exiting the room to see where putting the fan might do the best good.

Floor fan directly across from the hallway in the tv room facing the hallway. That's what I would do.
