My jamestown j1000 stopped working right. I can only keep it feed by the timer. Once the timer stops it stops feeding pellts. If I keep turning the timer it keeps feeding. can anybody tell me what the problem is? Thanks.

when u press the button does the light come on? Is it reaching temperature to enable autofeed?

have you called jamestown.....they are awesome helpful people...I have a j1000 and it works great.I dont use the timer as it stopped working.Has to be a switch I would think. Also did u do a good cleaning job...there are 4 ash pockets.not saying that would cause it.but it does help with its performance...its an awesome stove

If it stops feeding when the timer stops, that sounds like proof-of-fire snap disc. It needs to be warm enough to close that disc before the timer stops. Check the connections - can't remember off the top of my head which is which, but it's one of the two on the side of the combustion blower housing. Right in the middle of the stove, not all that easy to get at. Pretty easy to replace them though, and I think they're readily available - marked on the case with specs. I remember replacing all of them on my J1b. Jamestown will send them to you, a little over priced, but right.

Excellent - glad to hear it.

excellent news......how was the part?
