On my now sold 25 pdvc cleaned every other day and venting at least every ton. With my newly installed trp ip we will see, I havent had it running for more than 2 hours yet

I clean the stove every sunday once I start to use it. shut it down make breakfast then clean the stove. Takes me 15 minutes I clean everything except the exhaust. Just do that once a year when it warms up. maybe after 3 days ill scrape the burn pot but thats about it the glass is never dirty and the ash pan is pretty big so no real need to dump it

With the accentra insert is it ok to let the ash hang on to the edge of the burn pot or should I be manually scraping it into the pan. It is pushed out slowly but there is a constant inch or two sitting on my vent holes? Sorry. Still new. Thanks!

I keep watch on a few things on my Quad Castile.
If I walk by the stove and it's off I dump the burn pot.
If I see that the burn pot has a buildup of burning pellets, that apparently occurs when a occasional soft crust forms that will not dump I shut down break up the that crust dump the fire pot and restart.
On the Castile there are two clean out slides that I have never operated. I judge how well things are going by watching the ash buildup. Once I reach that certain level I shut down and clean. Usually it works out to be once a week.

Last year in my first season with a pellet stove I cleaned every day. Shut down for 1hr during warmest part of the day and spent maybe 3-10 minutes depending on how much I did. I scraped burnpot everyday, vacuumed out ashpan and firebox, cleaned glass with wet paper towel (just water). I did exhaust cleaning probably roughly once a month. I have no idea how long I could go without actually needing to clean since I never tried.
I'm sure I was being a little ridiculous but I was burning cheap pellets and I like a clean stove :)
Experimenting with better pellets this year, a burnpot mod, and exhaust mods to see if I can be happy cleaning less often.

Clean the pot everyday. Deeper clean every 10-12 bags .. meaning using shop vac .. cleaning the exchangers. And every ton I do the leaf blower thing and use a brush cleaner for the pipe.

Every day or so, open door and quickly "stir" the pot with a screwdriver to knock out any clinkers or stubborn ash. Every 2-3 days shutdown, dump ashes into pan, vacuum, clean glass, about 5 minutes total. I don't even wait for the stove to fully cool, just enough so touching it is uncomfortable. Clean the exhaust 1-2 times per season when I notice I'm adjusting for more air, then its getting restricted. Lopi Pioneer.

Wondering what the average amount of time between cleanings is for people? Like for example do most of you go for one whole week of continuous usage or is it more like once every 3-4 days?

Mrs. doggy makes me clean up everyday, after 2 days she follows me around yelling stay outside !:) My stove gets a 20 min. cleanup once a week, but I can take it to 2 weeks if I need to.

Our Accentra insert gets cleaned once a week during the 24/7 burning season . If we're burning really low ash pellets it may just hold the ashes from a full week, but I typically empty them every few days. After every ton the chimney liner gets cleaned.

Man, you guys make me feel insane! Apparently, I clean it too often, but I'll change that this year.
Last year, I would clean and vacuum every other day and we were NOT burning 24/7!
Maybe I'll cut down to once a week this year...Empty the burn pot each day then wait for a weekly cleaning.

Just showed the misses how to do a proper monthly clean up and what to do in the mean time between 1 ton loads, I leave for 2.5months every jan-march on a ship and sail around the tropics, so it will be on her to keep the heat flowing

(tho, I been lazy and have yet to hit the vent system)

Vacuum and scrape every two weeks. LBT twice a season and vacuum fines pot and clean esp probe twice a season.
