I am curious if other VC Montpelier insert owners find that the air handle does not seem to slide fully to the left. There is a detent that seems like it is there to lock the flue full open. When I slide my handle to the left it stops before I can lock into the detent. The insert seems to be doing just fine but a little more air at startup would keep me from opening the door to get s solid draft started. Anyone able to move their lever fully to the left?

My Dealer says it is a "stop" for the lever but the design must have been a little off as my lever doesn't get there either

There was a design change from a pull/push type to the side to side slide. The "indent" you see is left over from the earlier design. They never redid the mold for the front casting. Your slide handle should stop just to the right of the "indent" for fully open air.

I had a problem with the lever sticking at times the installer ground down a little bit of the metal were it was getting stuck

The question is really does the lever now move all the way to the left until it touches the end of the slot?
