Big loads of oak, black walnut, and some others...

I've been working at clearing some ditch-banks at a friends' 210-acre farm. This is the 7th load I've hauled out of there like this. For being a ditch-bank, there's been a lot of good wood on it. A bunch of oak, black walnut, and cherry. Also a lot of cottonwood and other junk wood but once I get all the good wood out I may haul some junk wood for the summer when I'm burning only to heat hot water.

Well thank you! I don't own a skid loader, but I have a friend who let me use his for a weekend then I rented one. I'll be buying one sooner or later though.

I actually built the trailer out of a crappy trailer I bought. The day I drug it home.




I then cut the whole deck off of it, cut the axles out from under it and relocated them. I basically lifted the trailer off the axles enough so the deck would be over the tires. I reinforced the frame, installed new side rails, stake pockets, re-decked the trailer with 1/8" steel, and completely rewired it. The top deck of the trailer was square and I had to remove my toolbox as you can see in the above pics or else the trailer corners would wipe it out when turning hard. The 5th wheel was raised as high as it would go so I modified the top deck to clear the toolbox.





After re-decking and rewiring. Also installed d-rings along the side channels.


Stake pockets installed.


I've since installed new Load Range E tires. I built it for a log trailer and that's what I use it for.

Thank you! Yes my owb is next to my carport. It wasn't there in the trailer pics, but here's a current pic of where it is. I framed in some of the carport to store the mower, snowplow and my four wheeler, and the rest will be filled with wood. My truck sits in it now only because my garage is a mess.

My splitter has been undergoing surgery lately so don't mind the clamps holding the hydraulic tank on!

I definitely have some wood here, but sadly it's never enough!

I have a few beautiful black walnuts laying around that I haven't cut up yet. I'm going to keep them for when I get my chainsaw mill. I'd love to make a nice dining room table.

That's the plan. I picked up light gauge square tubing and once I'm done modifying my splitter I'll start building a chainsaw mill. :D
