Regency gas fireplace what do you think

I cant believe I'm actually thinking about this, but me and the Mrs were checking out gas fireplaces this weekend.
We like the look of the regency p-33.
Dealers what say you about the regency line?
I saw 1 review pre 2004 for this stove here, anyone else have one?
No I'm not getting rid of the Harman, this would just be another zone heater for the house, which would only be used occasionaly.
and maybe be the sole heat if and when I ever take another vacation.
Just looking for info any help would be appreciated.
 
regency is top notch in the fireplace industry, but like all manufacturs they make every thing from low in builder grade to high efficiency high end units. I will research the model your looking at and give you the scoop.
 
But Gas is far more perverted than just a bit of healthy droolage... %-P

expect a small flame picture and enough heat for about 300 square feet. 21000 btu's is not a lot of gas, but on the other hand, if you want a small room heater that sips fuel then that would be a good pick. Another to look at in that same class of fireplace is the quadrafire qv32, a little more heat and i like the insides better. Of course thats just a opinion, both units are top notch.

Fear not Corie....we are still keeping the pellet stove which heats the house. I just want a fireplace in the livingroom for a "cozy" feel in the winter. or last weekend it was dreary out.....GVA started the pellet stove, but we probably would have been ok with a nice little fire in the gas fireplace.

I would never give up the warmth of our pellet stove completely.

Its a girl thing :)
 
My stove is more efficient than 76% but I punched in the 76% for both pellets and gas, and pellets would have to be 300 a ton to equal gas for this fireplace.
So knowing this It would only be run maybe for an hour or so on real cold days when someone (Mrs.GVA) is in the room :) .
Also it would be nice to know that If I went on vacation this would keep the house warm (somewhat).....
MSG I'll check out the Quad, The dealer down the street closes at 4pm everyday and is closed sat/sun/mon. So i'll have to rely on the online recommendations for now.

The quad is 28,000 btu's so it will have some more asthetics then then the regency as far as amount of flame. The quad usually comes in around the $1500 price point and that includes a nice refratory brick option. Im assumimg that the regency is a tempered glass front, the quad is for sure.
 
then the p33 is the clear winner. I always perfer ceramic over tempered, funny that there marketing literature didnt say that, or i missed that. Most companies are pretty proud to put that feature on there marketing literature.
