Hello everyone!
I recently bought a house with an oil furnace (boo) and an Englander NC-30 (yay!) This site has been great in determining what stove I had, and how best to use it. There was enough wood for one fire when I bought the house, so now I need to acquire some for this winter-
1. I know a lot of y'all got by the first year with burning pallets- I'm not against this but think I will need more than this can provide.
2. I work in a wood shop and can get all the 2x4 and 1x4 SPF lumber I want, but so far only plan on using this for kindling. Always been taught not to burn pine inside, but it looks like some guys here burn it more?
3. I'm starting to stockpile logs I come across (cutting down trees from coworkers, etc) to season for next year.
My big question is- there seems to be a lot of members from my area. Can anyone recommend a source for good seasoned wood to get me through this year? I can call up all the people on craigslist and bring a moisture meter but thought I'd ask here first. Money's always tight but I realize good wood will set me back this first year. I'm not against getting my hands dirty, but haven't cut and split firewood since I was a kid.

We had a small rainstorm last night but it looks like everyone's trees are good. I guess I'll just have to get a MM next time I am in monroeville (Harbor Freight) and start going by some of the firewood lots I see. I need to get the chimney swept.inspected anyways before I get too solid into burning the wood.
