found a nail today

Been splitting the mother lode of Black Locust I got back in May?june due to a freak tornado in my area. I found a nail buried deep in a round today while splitting. Pretty interesting although nothing out of the ordinary glad I missed it with my saw.

Nails and other junk are frequently found in homeowner trees. Hopefully not with your saw chain.
I have even found a big screw eye, 3/8in shank, in an old Tulip Poplar tree. I keep a small collection
of such 'souvenirs' I found, mostly nails. I should take a photo and post it here.

For sure it is good you missed with that one.
 
Posted this photo a while back. The blue staines on the end of the round were a warning to watch for hidden metal. Figured these nails were in about 30 rings.
