I have a cracked nut on one of the valves on my termovar loading unit. Part number 19 on page 6 of this pdf:

http://www.acaso.se/Global/LK_Acaso/Monterings_bruksanvisningar/TERMOVAR_LU_EN_200612.pdf

It's the 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 " model. Does anyone know where i can get a replacement for this part? It doesn't have to be this valve, but a part that will fit here would be just fine, I have a ball valve after the unit, I just need something that will fit here.

Just the nut and washer would be fine, but I have a feeling I will need the whole thing. If there is no part readily available, what can I do to replace the part? Will a regular 1 1/2" copper fitting work there?

I would think the threads on body of the loading unit are straight threads as the nut just tightens the rubber seal against the body. So I don't think an 1 1/2" female NPT would fit well with 1 1/2" straight threads but I don't know.

As far as replacing the part or parts you might try Dean at http://www.smokelessheat.com/ or the folks at http://www.woodboilers.com/ as they both deal with the LK Acaso products.

Thanks..I'll try them tomorrow

How about gas fittings.

Any chance that could be brazed? If you can't find a replacement quickly? Doesn't necessarily have to be pretty, and doesn't necessarily have to be a water tight weld as it just functions as a nut to tighten the flange against a rubber washer.

The original parts of the termovar are a bit sensitive to me and a 3ft pipe wrench. Glad it worked.

Yeah, me and a 2 foot pipe wrench had the same problem, as you saw. :) I'm so used to how hard it was to rip out the old iron pipe my heating system was made of (6 foot bar on the pipe wrench for leverage) that sometimes I forget how fragile brass and copper are. :)
