Just picked up a ton of Stove Chow, which made a short appearance here last year. Really liked them a lot with very good heat out of my Castille. Anyone burning them now and are they up to last year's quality?

First time I burnt them. Just a few bags, but was impressed.

Just got my 3 tons delivered this morning from Home Depot. Bought a test bag earlier in the week before I pulled the trigger on the big delivery. It was 18 degrees and the house was in the mid 70s throughout. Very happy with them and I've tried quite a few brands. I did have two broken bags. Also some leftovers from last year's ton of EasyBlaze.

I just picked up 20 bags and am trying them tonight. So far I olike somersets the best but also find they burn quicker than others too. Premium pellets though a little better not worth the cost vs value. Sorry I digress stove chows imhope they worrk out well the price is pretty good.

unless there the same exact mostly softwood as the Ultra's are, they are not as good!!

Picked up a few bags last week, burning good for me. Last year I burned 3 tons of Chows. Bought at different times thru the season. First ton was great, next 2,not so much. The color was much different and had a lot of longer pellets.
Guess thats what I have to accept when buying the lower priced pellets.
Without consistency,theres no efficiency.IMO

So far so good on my stove chows . They are burning a little quicker than the other hd brands but also a little botter too. I like them. Especially considering the price.

Does any one know why i scanned a bag of stove chow at a HD today and it came back, A product of Catamount Pellet Fuel Corp. I thought they where Energex?

Back in the late 90's early 2000's all i burned was Chow made in North Adams mass, so you guys think Chow is as Hot as FSU?

Chow burns hotter and less ash in my set up than FSU, which I still think is a good box store pellet and my choice behind Somersets & SC.

Sounds just like last year when i burned both, FSU beat it for better heat and lower ash!!
FSU are like Oakie's this year, like high octane rocket fuel, that guy from Okanagan used to say here before he got banned a few years ago

5 weeks burning mostly Stove Chow at my parents home. Cleaned tonight for the first time this year. Good heat, very ashy. Ash also has a very strong smell. But hey, when I walked into the house it was 80 degrees!!!
