I went to their web site, 5 ton minimum to purchase at the plant in east Berlin.

Thanks, I'll keep looking, I would like to " test burn" a few bags before I commit.

Just brought in the Cleanfire Pacific Softies, saving the Douglas Furs for the real cold.

Got a semi-local product this year. Purcells out of North Idaho. Got them for $150 a ton, borrowed a trailer and hauled them myself to save the delivery costs. They work pretty well. Didn't find the damaged bags that I got last year from the supplier then.

My HD has had Infernals exclusively for the past two years. Lowes, on the other hand, has had a veritable plethora of pellet choices. This year, while waiting for my VTs to be delivered, I tried Hearthside

and Natures Own

. But when the Somersets showed up unexpectedly, well, bye bye VTs, hello Sets. After 5 bags, they rock!

. True test will be tomorrow, but I have no doubt they'll be up to the task.
Where did you find the Somersets

Will throw a bag of Chow at it tomorrow. Keepin' the powder dry with the BF and Sets waiting in the wings for when the cold really sets in. Will just go back to using up the last 30 bags on MWP next week.

All Hamer"s, all the time. Only 10 % more than big box Greene Team or Stove Chow, so why not? Up to $5.50 for Hamer's at dealer, vs. $4.98 at Big box stores. I'll pay the extra 50 cents to not deal with the ash.

Somersets all season long. Hot and $189 a ton here. Hope the lowes around here get them every year. Its my first year burning and I may be spoiled. Outside its 18::F with 9::F wind chill.

Time for some pointless bantering!

What are you burning for this cold spell? Sticking with shoulders, or breaking out the good stuff?

I just cleaned the stove and pulled out a few bags of Vermonts. I can't take the suspense any longer!!
Great minds think alike! I cleaned the stove and it's happily munching on Vermonts now. Even on low, with temps at 29, it's 70 in here :)

18 degrees out and doing absolutely fine on medium (and low for periods) w/ the feed gate closed as far as it goes with the mwp blend.
burned them all year our first year w/ the stove. (down to minus 20)
but now there are only 10 bags left and it's on to the softies.

Burning up the last of the Hamers from 2012/2013 season. We spent today fine tuning some of the house insulation in anticipation of this cold front. Will do a couple more things tomorrow but the bulk of the work was done today. It is definitely helping.

MWP in Harman and newly installed Englander (Basement)

FSU, have 5 bags left of 2010 vintage 'Set's for the coldest nights ahead

I have been burning my curran softies for about a month .woke up to 8 degs and the snow plow going by the house so the old harmon is running steady today !!!

Staying with MWP Blend for now want to see how they handle the real cold......Have Cubex in the wings waiting.

FSU's right now, left over's from last year. Going to pick up some Vermont's shortly. I turned the stove up one notch as it was a little chilly this morning with the wind.

Burning Trebio softies an Curran hard soft mix, sticking with the Trebio for the cold they are hot .20131111_163239.jpg

After trying a ton of shoulder pellets last year and having a mess with 5x more ash we decided it was not worth the $10 savings a ton. They also did not produce as much heat

We just bought the good stuff

It's been below zero with the wind chills the last few days

It's 25 degrees outside. My house is at 73/74 with the stove switching between 1 and 2 (out of 5). I'm burning Green Supreme. I guess the M55 makes any pellet behave.

Yeah, woke up to temps in the low 20's, pretty significant winds, windchill in the teens, and the house at 70'F without the furnace running at all. :) :) =:X <:3~

Just started on some Green Supremes. Little ashy but it was 25º out last night and a cozy 75º inside. My Harman seems to like them and for $4.38 a bag I like them too.

25 outside and the House is at 78, burning the presto logs, the harman loves them! Very little ash I'm happy as can be.

15 out today feels like 3 they say, 72 inside and comfortable with cheap stuff.
