We purchased a used Aarow stove (Man. Date 1 5). Your guess is as good as mine either an 85 or 95 model. Either way we also got 4 sections of 6 in. Dbl wall insulated pipe. It is filled with what I believe to be vermeculite/ asbestos. I've seen the powder leak out around the seam at bottom of pipe sections.. as they've been moved around quite a bit. Originally I thought this was Selkirk metalbestos pipe but when I bought adapter kit it was the wrong thickness. So I researched and decided it was actually selkirk super pro.. I bought the adapter kit and installed my new dbl wall Selkirk stove pipe with the selkirk super pro adapter kit going into the class A ( pipe in question) that's asbestos filled through the ceiling. As it turned out I needed another 2 foot section so I bought a super pro section from lowes (same place i got adapter) and well,it won't lock onto my Class A!! It fits and has similar locking design but just doesn't bite. It will spin and spin not lock. My big concern is that maybe the adapter kit didn't fit as well as I thought but it really seemed to lock... Does anyone have any idea what brand of pipe this mystery 6" Class A stainless steel asbestos filled pipe might be??? Thanks for any info!!
