Anyone have a good way to tell which side is coated and goes towards the fire? My stove guy said just use a DVOM on Ohms. The coated side will have continuity. My Fluke meter shows no continuity on either side.

Have the dealer show you which is the correct side. Is your meter self ranging? If not, try a different ohm range.
Dealer is closed for the holiday, my wife picked up the replacement glass for me from him. It is a factory replacement so OEM. He called after she left to make sure I put the correct side toward the flame and told me how to test it. I used a Fluke meter on auto range and even set it on low range. That did not work so I put two drops of water about an inch apart and stuck the leads into the drop and still OL. Next I used a car battery to set up a series circuit and tried measureing voltage across both sides and still no luck. Looks like another 80 mile round trip to the dealer next week to have him figure out which side is coated. It would be to simple to put a sticker on the coated side huh?

When I had my Jotul 3 I removed the glass to change gaskets then read the directions about replacing the proper side inward and that it would be well marked I could not for the life of me tell. I even took it in to the dealer- He couldn't tell either and told me not to worry about it. tried the meter thing, too, no luck. I tried to just stop worrying about it. Then I one day I read somewhere that they don't coat the glass that way anymore but never took it out of the manuals. I can't verify how true that is, but it was credible based on my experiences. Then I just stoppped worrying. Maybe a call/email to customer service at Lopi would give you a definitive answer . They're a quality company and I would think they'd be definitively knowlegable--worth a try before a haul all the way to the dealer.
My Englander has great customer service. I can email them with a question and get a definitive personal answer in an email in far less time than it would would take me to drive to the dealer and then find someone who actually wants to help me out and not just sell me a stove.

Any stove I'v seen with {infrared Glass always had a {pink rose amber tint} Does your have that? When looked at on an angle in the light? You will see it. Jay
I thought I would update this thread in case anyone else has this issue. I got in touch with Travis Industries and they said the glass does not have a coating on either side. Thanks for all the help this site gives everyday to so many people.
