It was a 4 day sale last weekend that the store put on since all of the US were selling their kidneys and children. They try to attract Canadian customers to prevent hoards of us going south to shop. :D

It works great. I have tested fridge temps, kids foreheads, wife's feet (no good), stove top, etc.

The only bummer is that it doesn't go above 600....

Interesting...My wifes family, when they come down to visit, also plans ahead on trips south. Shopping trips that is.
no offense but I get so irked when I travel north of the border, the cost of things in CA is unreal....gas is one of them
 
I agree 100 percent. Wen our dollar was at 65 cents US, everyone comes North.

Yes it is more expensive and yes we pay taxes (lots on gas) but when I leave the hospital after 5 day stay ( they encourage dads to stay) with a newborn baby and a wife who had a c-section and NO bills (and no insurance premiums) I take it in stride. It is all what each person is used to :D

These days we see quite a few Canadians in town . . . especially folks from New Brunswick.

But . . . as you said . . . a few years back things were a bit different. I actually saved quite a bit of money by going north of the border to buy my Honda ATV in Woodstock, NB back in 2000.
 
Exactly Jake. Can't have everyone happy at once. LOL.

I grew up in Fredericton NB. We never went to the US, lost too much with the exchange. When I lived near St Leonard we would go to Van Buren and get gas/groceries. And there was a store in Caribou that had $ at par on weekends. That was worth it!
 
I am in the process of looking for, and getting approval from the wife, to purchase an IR Thermometer. Hopefully I can find a deal like you did. But, I will be looking for one that measures over 600
 
I always go to CT and Princess Auto every time we go to the "Big City"
I'm sure I'll get one soon.
 
Harbor Freight has theirs on sale right now at $27.99. Too bad as a couple weeks ago it was $14.95. They work well too.
