This might have been answered before....

I own a 25-PDVC and would love to have the thermostat completely shut off the stove. If reading Englander's website correctly the Englander 25-EP and 10-CPM stoves completely shut down when hooked up to a thermostat.

Is it possible to run a 25-EP control board in a 25-PDVC?

If not I wish Englander would develop a new control board for their pellet stoves, it would help save money and pellets.

The answer is no, the option was/is but disabled/removed, you'll have to check with England, on the PVDC boards but there were issues with it.

The controllers also have different operational output for the blowers and feed system on the various stoves.

If you have a nice place to conduct tests involving possible out of control fires and really know what you are doing it might be an interesting experiment.

That is ashame. I love the stove and it has plenty of safety features, just wish it was a tad bit smarter.

I guess I'll have to drop Englander a nice note. I'm sure there would be a market for a control board that allowed for it.

The main problem with on/off for the PDVC would be ignition of pellets in the burn pot, after a run time. The ash buildup eventually would suffocate the ignition of pellets. No control board can fix that drawback.

True, however you would still do your daily cleaning to include scraping the burn pot.

Englander responded, they have no desire to make this a feature for the 25-PDVC stove. Oh well.

The problem can possibly show up within a few cycles, well less than a daily scrap out would fix.
