Anyone burning Cubex pellets this year? If so, how are they burning? I tried Cubex last year and they were a mess in my stove. Apparently they had a bad batch last year. I switched to Okanagan pellets this year and they are burning clean just not as hot as the Cubex did.

No issues here. They seem better than last year, but it could just be my imagination.

Thanks for the update. I'm thinking I'll have to use a hardwood for the coldest winter months as this softwoods just don't seem to burn as hot.

I had the same issue with Cubex last year. I burned five bags this year and they seem much better so I bought a full ton for the colder months. I hope the ton that I bought burn as well as the first five. They are the Cubex with the new bag. Green leaf on the bag instead of red.

If you want hot, you should try Vermont softwoods if they are available near you.

If you want hot and clean for me a good softwood does the trick, if you want ultra hot and and really low ash the Douglas Firs are supposed to be the way to go

Agreed Sooty...I had to put a bag in the stove last night as I hadn't gotten my delivery of my shoulders til today. I had to drop the stove down one setting like I did two years ago with Cubex. I think last year's crappy lot is a thing of the past.
