I just picked up 3 ton of stove chow from HD....burns as hot as my green team

still undecided on what to get for the deep cold months

what's a pellet for colder weather ? shoulder pellet ?

when it gets down in the 20's i turn my stove up to 2 . the teens maybe 3 . single digits definitely 3 . that's 3 out of 5 . never ran my stove for any length of time on 4 . all on box store pellets .

Put that englander in c mode and crank it up !!!!!

I've seen a few posts here about the different modes....does changing to C mode really
that big of a difference ??

this is my second year burning chow and personally I love them. they give out great heat a little ash but I clean my stove once a week so its not a problem and the price is great 209 a ton and use a 10 percent discount actually pay 189. I buy 2 tons at a time and rent there truck for 20 and use it for two trips and never get charged for additional time I have 4 tons stored in my basement and burning away

Sounds like your stove is properly sized for the space your heating. The ones that have issues the most are the ones running undersized units and where it really stands out is once the cold sets in. Just ask member briansol

I'm burning some chow this season. And noticed that there isn't a pellet in the bags longer than 1" inch. Getting excellent heat and probably could lower the feed rate some. But I'm just letting the stat is do its job of controlling when the stove needs to be on or off.

Figured I should add my 2 cents to stay on topic. I'm liking them and I hope I can get more. Seem to be a better bag for the buck compared to MWP and the racks full of GS.
