Got 15 bags left of my Turmans, love em!!! On the cusp of a deep freeze this week, I'm going to switch to my Pennwoods. Just curious what other pellet heads are hoarding for a deep freeze???
 
Hammer Time, 2tons but Chow is burning good also just more ash.
 
Vermont softwoods, but my "shoulder" Greene Team and FSU are both plenty hot as well. I like the Vermonts for the low ash aspect. Can go for quite a while without shutting down to clean!!

I'm using the Vermonts as well this year, as I loved em last year. This year I found they burn filthy. Still hot and smell great, but where I could go a stretch without clean last year, now my firebox looks like a wool coat after fifteen bags. Barefoots and Lacretes are burning awesome though and HOT ::-)
 
After buying a cheaper ton of pellets for shoulder season last year I have decided saving the little bit of money was not worth the effort and mess.

The shoulder pellets were the most ashy crappy things. They made weekly cleaning a nightmare. A real mess and our ash pan would be overflowing

I will not burn junk in my stove again!

So, with that said we are burning the rib mt pellets again. They are comparable to uncle Jed's.
 
Currently burning Green Teams and Somersets. Will be burning AWF softies for the cold snaps.

I save my money and simply burn Fireside Ultras from Home Depot. With my coupon, they were $199.00 per ton. 18 degrees outside my house right now, and a tropical 74 degrees inside!

I will be doing the same.FSUs are plenty hot enough for the entire winter, and the money I save from not buying the designer pellets will be spent on all the great winter brews available right now. :)

I have most of a ton of FSU's and about 3/4 ton of this year's Vermonts. I would agree that this year's Vermont is a bit dirtier. I tried some LaCrete's and they burn hotter than the Vermonts and feed waay better. They seem to have a very consistent size and feed steady so there's not so many ups-n-downs with the flame. They seen at least as clean, maybe cleaner. I will buy a ton of LaCrete's once my Timbren helper "springs" come in for my truck. I was riding pretty low with the Vermonts and LaCrete's come on a 2200# pallet I think.

Where did you get the LaCretes? How much?

Barefoots and Somersets waiting on deck. I have about 25 bags of MWP and a ton of SC in front of my heavy hitters. As we get under 20 degrees, blending the MWP with some Chow.

Pellet IT...did you get the VTs at Frederikson's? Glad they are working out for you!

Yes, the VTs came from Fredericksons.
 
I have a ton of Cleanfire Douglas Firs waiting for the cold
 
Was into Curran hard, soft mix, using them on the warm days but Trebio and Satisfaction are winning me over as the temp drops. They all cost the same at 5 bucks a bag and there is a good supply for now. Satisfaction does keep the glass cleaner over a longer period but it seems to have a strong pine smell.
