I am having an issue with the bottom auger on my 25-PDV. At times it will stop like it's binding causing the stove to shut down. There doesn't seam to be anything causing the bind.

I am also in the process of taking the motor off to inspect and it says to loosen the sets screw to remove. Would this be the sets screw on the collar? Thanks in advance for any help with this issue.

Yes, loosen the set screw and pull/slide auger motor towards back of stove. Also the top & bottom auger motors
are interchangable. You are capable of swapping them around, they are the same.

Carbon Buildup in the auger tube. Just scrape it all off so you have a tube that is not blocked at all. It should be just a steel tube with no lip on the edge near the fire.

I just took mine apart last week, chipped away all of the carbon then used a cylinder hone to get it super clean.
