I am ready to buy a chimney liner for the insert in the back room. The PO put a Sierra stove in the fireplace without a liner. When I inspected the chimney I could feel a column of warm air coming up the flue. It's time to line the chimney so we can use the stove and stop the heat loss.

Where's the best place to buy a chimney liner kit? Is there an advantage to corrugated pipe vs smooth wall. It would seem to me that smooth wall would tend to be less likely to accumulate soot and would be easier to sweep.

Any help is appreciated.

I bought mine from Rockford Chimney Supply. Good customer service and a decent price. I think others on here use Chimney Liners Direct (I think thats the name of it). I went with the smooth wall flexible liner thinking the same as you for ease of cleaning. It works well, being a first year burner and not having ideal wood it seems to not build up much in the liner just in the 5 ft of class A at the very top. Even if your chimney is ran on the interior I would still opt for the insulated kit that also helps keep it clean.

If you have a Menards near you they did have selkirk supervent on sale.

Best place to buy - from a fellow Hearth.com member! The manufacturer of Magnaflex liners is a member and is fantastic to work with. As an added bonus, they manufacture the Insulflex - pre-insulated liner. Less hassle to install. Just installed one in my chimney last month - could not be happier. Message me & I will provide the member's name - not sure if it is proper to put it in a message on the public forum!

My liner came from Chimney Liner Depot. I would order from them again if I needed another liner.
