This is the exact spot where I very nearly posted a question about which ash vaccuum to select. However, sensing that it might cause the heads of a few of the long time forum residents to just explode, I opted to use the "search" function instead to find the information I needed. I will now be making my purchase in relative comfort; narrowly avoiding an Internet riot where members type in ALL CAPS or question my value as a human being. I feel good.

And thus ends my Public Service Announcement about newbie over-posting. ;)

This is better covered in the Gear forum. Search there for several threads on the topic.

DAMN FUNNY!!

The PowerSmith seems to be well liked by a bunch of users and I was ready to make my order just a little while ago. However, after reading a few more threads, just as many folks were using simple old Shop Vacs with HEPA filters or bags. The local Tractor Supply carries something else all together. I'm stumped and now I'm questioning everything I've read. This is like trying to find the best tires or lift kit on a Jeep forum. Apparently I've fallen into the subjective opinion trap all over again. Doh! My plan now is to troll the entire forum until I find someone who seems far smarter than the rest of us and then do exactly what he does. Seems like the most logical plan of attack.

And I apologize for not selecting the Gear Forum. I hadn't seen that one.

OK...more searching of Hearth.com led me to a link for the PowerSmith...that link led me to Farm and Fleet website...there I found the PowerSmith Ash Vac for $69 + $9 shipping...SOLD!

It's a complex selection process though. You can't just go following the guy with the highest number of messages. Sometimes stupid people can be quite prolific. ;)

When you have completed all your research and made your purchase, please let us know if it was a wise choice! I may or may not buy one based on your experience.
