I hear a lot of great things about SOS and their Harmens, but it looks like the Quad at Hearth & Home might be about $800 cheaper with install(piping) and stove and all. Does anyone have any experience with them? Thoughts???

With the Harmens? (Harman), The Quads or the store?
My answer is: No yes No

My question is if anyone has experience dealing with the local Quad dealer?

And ALSO if there is any reason we SHOULD spend more on the Harman (sorry about the typo). :)

Ive heard good things about Quads,
But I went for the Harman because I can get away with only having to vacuum it out about once every 4 or 5 weeks.

I dont know if the Quad's are like that or not.
Ive bought pellets from SOS (work just down the road) but have not bought a stove from them.

$800 bucks is 4 tons of pellets from a box store (Hackettstown lowes and HD have them 196 a ton).

I have had both, and they are both very good stoves in my opinion and experience owning them. I had a sante Fe insert for 7 years and it was bullet proof. I now have the new Accentra 52i insert. The 52i really cranks the heat, but also has a lot more control of room temp. There are so many different ways to run the harman stove. The build quality and the engineering and ease and function, design, same heat temp with any pellet / ease of taking apart to clean is better. But the quad was a very decent reliable stove. This is just my opinion. Good luck with your choice

Hd and lowes - do they deliver?? Do you find a big difference in the quality of the pellets though?
Yes they delivery (dropoff..not hand delivery I believe) for like 65$ total for how ever many tons you get delivered.

Just for the heck of it I would call the Cozy Barn in Wind Gap, Pa. Tell them what you are looking for. I believe they do go to N.J. You may also save sales tax being out of state. They beat everyone I spoke to about my P61a by $500 and that was even with the install. If you don't call them there is also a pellet stove place on Route 15 in Lafayette.

Harman from SOS..jus sayin..when I purchased last month Harman was running 350 instant off, plus with them being right up the road it was a no brainer.. I was just in H/H the other day and the quads do look nice. Harman I believe are the Cadillacs and the Quads are like the Buicks..both nice but the caddy jus has that something extra!!! Good luck!

.
Did you get the Quad from Hearth and Home? If so were you happy with their install? thank you.

If you decide on the Quad call the Hearthe Shoppe in Belvidere. I bought my stove there and they installed it, anytime I need anything for the stove they take great care of me. I have no experience with Hearth and Home though.

Nice!!! Hope Bob treated u right!!!!
