I have a Heatilator (metal prefab fireplace) attached to a 15' ish clay lined chimney. The flue has been lined with a 9" liner. My question is can I insert a 6" liner inside the existing 9" liner?

I am looking at installing a used Pacific Energy Super 27 -D in the Heatilator.

Sure you can. I'm surprised that none of the more "safety conscience" among us here on hearth have done this, just to be really safe! ;lol

You'll definitely want to do the 6" liner for best stove performance.

My insert is in a zero clearance fireplace which originally has an 8" metal chimney which a 6" insulated liner was installed.

Thanks. I picked up the stove for this project.

Pacific Energy. Model : PACIFIC INSERT -D. mfg 1993. Anyone have any idea of the heat output of this model? I'm hoping it will heat most of my 2000 ft/2 ranch.

The stove is getting a good clean and upgrade. Need: Baffle Retaining Pin (any idea where I can get one?). A few new bricks, new insulation, paint and thermometric switch and rheostat.

Hoping to have the block-off plate done this week for install after Christmas.
