I am trying to help my father out with his stove. It has a good flame, but it builds up lots of ash and does not seem to heat so great. He keeps the stove on 5-5. We have thoroughly cleaned in inside and out along with the blower and components. It has new auger motors and a new control board. He does not use the corn auger in the stove and it is set to pellet mode. Any help to reduce the ash and increase the heat would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't own an Englander but the settings seem to be off from what I recall reading in previous threads. Aren't there three settings or is that on newer models? Try search box at the top to see if others have run into similar problems. When all else fails contact Mike;)

Edit: Have you tried a factory reset? Do you have the manual? You can get them on-line

Run the stove in Corn mode in order to have the stirrer pot running but you have to use pellet settings 5-9-1 on the three bottom buttons, as starting point and tune up from there.

Hi All, anyone know how to set back to corn? I wound up setting to Pellet and the stirrer stopped. I tried without the stirrer using wood pellets and had awful results. Now I just want to get back to corn mode. Reset to factory defaults would be great too. Thanks in advance!

From another thread (imacman)but the settings apply to another stove but the procedure should allow you to change back to corn mode... Note factory set numbers are mentioned above and the last number for the bottom three is always 1.

If you're not sure about it, and want to re-set the board to the factory default settings, the procedure is:

1. Unplug, and then plug the power cord back in.
2. Within 5 seconds, press ALL 3 bottom buttons at the same time and release. The display should go to "F 5", and then eventually turn off.

At this point, you should check to make sure the stove is in pellet or corn mode, depending on which one you want.

3. Reset bottom 3 buttons to original setting (3-5-1). Let all lights on control board go out, and then restart the stove.
