What a major improvement Rod. That was a real mess to start with. It's amazing the owner kept burning it in that condition (and lived). What was the old stove, a Garrison?

The new stove is an Enviro EF1600 Insert
I have no Idea what the old stove is.
It is now scrap metal.
 
Does your state allow installations of inserts in damaged non Compliant NFPA211 Fireplaces?

It is safer that it was
I has a Insulated 211 Stainless Heatfab liner with a chimney chase and we blocked off the Cut out HeatOlator with Heavey black sheetmetal and Insulation

Nothing els we could do but Tare down the old chimney.
