Stove looks GREAT. We did our stove the same way - was pleased how smooth and nimble the moving from bobcat forks-through-the-door to floor to hearth and then pivot into position went. Happy burning.

Looks great!

I'm getting the itch for a new stove. Kinda torn between getting the Ashford(probably not much to gain over the Princess) or getting a King. Hopefully I'll be able to resist the urge for a while longer and just be happy with what I have. ;lol

Very nice surprise indeed. It looks great. I'm looking forward to burning reports. What wood are you going to be feeding it?

PS: We moved a 52' steel hulled sailboat on rollers too. The Egyptians were definitely right.

Did you give up on the enamel! I thought you had an enamel one ordered?
You are gonna love this stove! I see you have a blower. Make sure to let me know what you think about it. Looks sweet!

Gotta cord and a half of ash that's been wait'n around for a year and a half.

Lucky you. I was hoping for more normal northwest wood like alder, soft maple and fir. Ash is quite the luxury here.

I found an enamel one and was sent many pics of it.........The enamel looks great but I wasn't crazy about the way the color looked.........Very dark and molasses like .......Blackish ....not the chestnut color I was expecting. ( like jotul's deep red brown color).

You could make a Christmas movie out of how this all turned out ....lol.... But to make a long story short...........Through a series of unexpected events.....( And keep in mind its Christmas time ;)), Someone found out my plight and then told someone who then contacted someone who contacted a lot of someones.... And I was contacted and offered this stove at an incredible price ... No joke.

I am feeling pretty thankful right now cause I didn't think I would see one any time soon...................I have one word to describe this.........SERENDIPITY.:)

Nice!

Could you post a picture of the enamel one?

Yeah I have a pretty good source for that ash...........as you probably know there are a lot of wood sellers down here by Rainier

Who is your dealer? The Maple Valley guy? I think I need to deal with a door gasket.

Are you going to remove the gas fireplace?

Dingle ding. Is that you Clarance?

Heh heh...........my movie is better ==c............More intrigue ;)

Thanks Rdst.............After reading many of your burn time posts I would be happy as a clam.........But I can understand the urge ...The Ashford is definitely in the pretty direction.....Quality is up there too......My opinion is the newer bks are more refined in technology.

Let me guess, the other stove is gas?

Yep ! .......The cheapo- that does nothing but burn gas- kind.

Probably.........A friend of mine suggested that I take out the gas stove and make it a wood shed with an access door on the outside of the house........Apparently , from what he said there are people that have done it.

I thought your dealer was Kitsap Lumber ..........You know they stock a lot of wood stove and BK parts.

They are lumber yard type folks though and I want a stove shop type of experience with getting this door regasketed. Yes, I bought at Kitsap Lumber.

Here ya go Dairyman......................While I'm not a fan of this color , I just noticed that on this stove , the door assembly color doesn't match the top part of the stove............ Oops.

I've never seen one made out of an old gas fireplace, but we looked at a few places with wood storage that had an access from the outside. Pretty handy. We looked at a place during an open house once that looked like it might have one-I was peering into the cubbie to see if there was a door when the realtor asked if I knew what it was used for. I can't believe people would see a fireplace and not know the cubbie next to it was for wood storage. I told him of course, it was for wood storage, I was checking to see if it had outside access and he said he'd never seen that before. We looked at at least two ranches set up with one, I didn't know they were that uncommon.
