My ash pan was over flowing with ash after 2.5 bags of pellets. I have a Hampton GC60 and I'm burning Curran 60/40 blend pellets. They seem to be putting out good heat but producing a ton of ash. It didn't seem to bad until we got a cold snap and I started running the stove on Heat setting 4, feed 4 and combustion 3. After just 24 hours and 2.5 bags of pellets I opened the ash pan front door and the ash was spilling out. I'm also running the stove in Regular mode so the agitator is turning at the same rate as the auger. I get the best heat in this mode but the down side is that it's pushing cherry red ambers out of the burn pot and into the pan. That doesn't seem right, but like I said its producing more heat than in premium mode. Any thoughts or advice on this?

Thanks

If it is putting cherry red embers into the ashpan, that is the problem. You are wasting a lot of pellets and heat doing this. You need to adjust your feed rate so that only ash dumps into the ash pan.

X2 Yup...I would lower the feed rate and the combustion trim. Try 2-2 and see how that does for you.

I'll try lowering the feed rate but it seems like when I do that I loose my heat. Its been a bit of a balancing act trying to get sufficient heat without burning through a bag in 6-8 hours.

a bag in 6-8 hours????? Might as well switch back to oil at that rate.
