Feeling the Heat

I welcome the warming trend we are now experiencing. For one thing, I needed to gather another 2 cords of wood. With the snows we had last week( plus the 16"s of snow), it got a little harder to cut. For one thing, I went to section off a large tree and completely destroyed my blade because in the snow I couldn't see I was hitting the tip against a rock. So as far as I'm concerned, let the snow melt so I can get back to business.

Terrible for us. We had snow and now ice. Tonight might get really interesting. Right now changing from snow to sleet then back to snow. Ice predicted. Won't be any cutting done for a few days.

We are going to have rain until Monday. I don't mind the snow melt and rain will fill up the hockey pond.

60 tomorrow but by tuesday ,back in the deep freeze.

I'm trying to make time to use this break in the weather to do a sweep, and get back to cutting up the load of logs I have at the end of the driveway.....but, also gotta finish xmas shopping

This weather is terrible. Muddy snow, warm wind. I've got to use up some firewood. Three warm winters.
I might need to have a yard sale in the spring featuring 5 year old seasoned wood. It should be good.:)

.......this is crazy. already 69 degrees at 0800 hrs. stove has been out since Friday. good pneumonia weather.

60 degrees at 9:15 AM in Northwest New Jersey....

Shut boiler down yesterday morning.

66 degrees as of 0933. suppose to be in the mid 70's today and we are just days from winter!!

Not here, 19F and light snow. We're supposed to get 2-3" only, a few days ago it looked like 6-8". Highest temp we've had since the first week of December was 26F, that was yesterday. Looks like the rest of the month will be well below average also. Weather channel said that the pattern is supposed to flip sometime in January with warmer than normal temps for the central and upper Midwest...we'll see I guess. I'd rather have the cold and snow than have to deal with flooding in December, followed by very cold weather again. take care all you guys in the flood zones.

Actually winter officially started yesterday, the 21st. Specific's aside though it's to warm as far as I'm concerned. It's 60 degrees right now in SE Mass. I want to move some wood around and split some as well but the yard is to wet and muddy. I look forward to Tuesday when I can relight the new wood stove and get some outside work done.

The warmer weather kind of feels nice here for a couple of days, it melts the ice so I can get some cutting or splitting done. But after a couple of days I want the cold weather back. It seems weird not even building a fire for a few days in late December.

We took advantage of the warmth over the weekend to shut down the stove for gasket replacement and chimney cleaning. Temps are heading back down now so we're back to burning - yay!

Don't worry, it's all over, cold snap about to drop in tonight!

U are correct hall, I lose my mind more often these days. It looks like the warm front is over here. Suppose to be 18 degrees Friday.

Yep, I could use a warming trend now. Its 4 today and 0 tomorrow. Subzero every night. <>

yup, I honestly feel I deserve a break from this weather we have in Minn. A week of above 30's would help the wood pile.
