I have a 1991 Avalon 900 FS that has started giving me auger jamming problems. I successfully removed the motor and was able to manually unjam the auger by moving it back and forth. The motor was reassembled to the auger after lubricating the inner auger with a penetrating spray oil and being wiped dry. It turned on and worked again just fine for about 12 hours, then jammed again. Do I need a new auger? The motor was checked by direct line to outlet and turns well so I think that is ruled out. Where should I be looking into?

Motor gear boxes do wear out and the stator-armatures weaken. You can try and go to surpluscenter.com and see if the have one that will meet your stoves needs for around $20

Bioburner, I am not sure if I understand your message. What is a stator-armature?

with heat and time the gearbox grease drys up and causes more friction and add in some moderate pressure and u have jams also.
the Armature is the internal winding sections on the motor,

Thanks DirtyDave for that explanation. Anyone ever buy a new auger motor from the surplus Center site? Seems to be a great price of about $20 for an new auger motor?
