The little white house/church thing looks to be just east of cle-elum near the Teanaway river. Is that where you were?

That would be it...it's actually on the highway between Cle Elum and Ellensburg cutoff....just before heading over Blewett Pass:)

Love that part of the drive, it's where the forest gives way to desert. I worked several summers for an outfitter up the Teanaway. Packing mules and people.

My former father in law died the same thing, always packing in people and mules loaded with gear up in the high country, particularly up the Methow valley near the Sawtooth Ridge, Boiling Lake, and all around that area. Beautiful country, I used to ride the dirt bike up most of the way, then hike the rest. I was on top of the world, room with a view. It was stunning. You could see the tops of all the mountain ranges. One particular spot was called Heavens Staircase, and that it was! Attached is a photo where you can see where I hiked.

The 7th one is my favorite....the stream running thru the woods....I could sit in that spot all day
