3hrs on a full load?

I think everything has been covered properly by members, nothing I can add other than my experiences.
My house is heated with electricity but I compliment with wood. My electric heat is set at 61-62F overnight upstairs. When I load a full load before bed (9PM I load, bed around 10ish), it gets hot in the basement, damn hot (80-90F). The heat rises via the stairs and by morning my living room is 62-64F. I turn on all the electric heat, go downstairs and reload.
On a full load I get flames for 1-3 hours (maple/yellow birch). No more than that. My probe thermometer indicates cruising around 400 for 2-3 hours. Stove top runs about 600-800.
