Hello

Dry moly is great stuff! If pulling out the High Temp Header paint in the middle of the season is a big project!

After a cleaning really good with a wire wheel, a little Dry Moly Spray (molybdenum disulphide film, Temperature range of -50ºC to +450ºC) can really perk up those Accentra fire box back panels and front of the burn pot. The stuff just sprays on and dries real quick.

Of course it is a good idea to really wire wheel those grooves to clean out the white burned on ash first. The dry moly covers the staines and rust and it looks new!

See before and after pics of this 4 year old.

Has anyone tried this?

PS. Unwrap the room probe and keep it up to more accurately adjust the temperature in room temp mode! ! ! See last pic! ! !

Looks great! How well does it hold up to the heat?

Pretty well. If the flame touches it, then it wears off quicker but holds up pretty well.
(Works good on those Quadrafire panels too!)

Very nice! I notice that my heat exchange plates on my stove have a red color underneath along with the staining. Is this stuff readily available?

Yes
The red color is from the red cast iron which is more hi temperature. The dry moly is made by CRC
