We have a Buck Stove fireplace insert we need some advice on. The blower was making a rattling noise. It's done this before and DH was able to make it quit by cleaning out dust with a long slender brush. He hit something that caused a spark and the fan stopped. Do we need an electrician or an insert repairman to work on the unit? If an electrician, does the stove need to be pulled out? The man that cleans our chimney said he doesn't work on the electrical part. The local Buck dealer is closed until next week and we have some very cold weather coming and we need it repaired ASAP.

Check the main, house fuse box/electrical panel breakers first.

OK, just to confirm, if a lamp is plugged in the same outlet it works fine, right?

It's hard to say what he did, but the controls and blower should be up front on a newer model. Hopefully he just knocked a spade lug off of its connecting terminal. If so, it is an easy fix. Knowing the model of the stove would help.

Another appliance plugged into the outlet does work. It is a Buck Model 81.
