First real test of the p68 here in MD

11f last night and this morning. Winds sustained of 22mph with gusts of 49mph.

2200sq ft poorly insulated house kept at 73f with AWF softies on room temp mode....not even full throttle.

Thanks Harman. Not a drop of oil used this year as long as I'm home :)

Turned it up to 7 on stove temp with a 5 feed rate......intense heat! House was 76 after 30 minutes had to turn it down.

The feed rate shouldn't need to be that high & that flame pattern is unlike ANYTHING I've ever seen in a Harman Pellet unit.
Maybe it's just me...

wOW!! Feed rate 3.5 and # 4 is highest I ever used and that is with a Harman P61A...keeping the house at 73 degrees.
Imagine mine would look like a Dante's Inferno too at those numbers...

Yes it's crazy at that setup. Put it back on room temp and feed of 4. All is normal.

Keep in mind a photo stops time, it doesn't look like that in person, more of a straight vertical line of fire. At feed rate of 5 the burning pellets were an inch or so from spilling over, huge heat.

slow shutter speed, shows the overall vertical nature of the flames

and a super fast shutter speed showing the flames rolling upwards, our eyes can't really see this. this is at 1/4000th of a second.

and for good fun, our first snow at the new house, she was loving life while mom was loving the heat inside

my pellet line has always been few inches back...
kewl pictures though,,hey!!
keep the flame like that and prob melt the snow on your roof in few hrs..lol

That's some great results. Just installed a P43 in our house and we're lovin' it.
Love the photos. I'm an amateur photog too, I've been having a ball shooting the flames!! haha, the things we do to amuse ourselves :)

Cranked up the feed rate slowly until the burn edge was getting close to the lip of the burn pot. No doubt it was producing more heat this way........certainly doesn't NEED to be this way to heat the house though.
 
that looks like a 'lazy' flame from the pictures. it should be white-ish, tight and bouncy. not long, slow and orange.
 
Nice. I've used a little oil, but we've been in the negatives here in the mountains. The wind hasn't picked up like they were calling for, fortunately.
 
And this morning, leaving for Houston.......p68 kicking some ass

If that outdoor temperature of 31 degrees is accurate, that's NOTHING for the P68 to contend with! Hell, if it's in the thirties, I have to crank my P68 down, or it will be 80 degrees in my house.
 
That's the humidity. It was as low as 0 last night.

That weather station was a Xmas gift, I'll have to say the layout of the display is confusing.

How are the AWF working for ya? HD has them and was looking at getting a few bags to try.

The awf white pine are great, very hot and low ash. Only complaint is that they are a lot dustier than the wood pellet co. Pellets I'm also burning.
