Mid-Hudson Valley
Maybe we're relatively lucky, but NWS just dropped tonight's low temp forecast 10 degrees to -15. That with a light NW breeze should make things interesting. I've broken out my last three bags of Hamer's bought three years ago for the occasion. The mid Hudson valley rarely gets this cold. Will likely be burning Dino thru the night as well to keep the pipes from freezing.

How's by you?

Yes My pellet boiler will need an assist. That is seamless the way its plumbed... series Most of the time I lock out the oil burner but it keeps the wear and tear on equipment down

It's zero right now where I am, and it's supposed to get to -11. My stove is oversized for my house, and so far has had no problem keeping up with this cold. We will see what happens with -11. I think it can handle it. Using fans to blow cold air out of the bedrooms and temps have been 72 in the great room with the stove, and 69 in the bedrooms.

It's not even 9pm and we're down to 2. Just went to check on the pets in the shed where I've got one of those oil filled electric heaters. It's a balmy 33 and they're happy chickens and rabbits. The dog sleeps with us tonight.

Sounds like we're having a heat wave outside Philly, where it's a balmy 9' at 10:08. Supposed to get down in the 2-6 range. Forecasting freezing rain for Sunday, -3 Mon night, and high of 9 Tuesday. We're having a real winter so far.

tonight is the last night this week of minus teens. i'll be burning on medium again soon.
seems like at anywhere -10 and up, medium is plenty for me.

i hear there is more cold coming next weekend, but as of right now, NOAA only shows till next friday.

House is about 200 years old (parcel locator says built 1800), not sure really. Built as a company home for immigrant Irish coal miners, total remodel by me about 6 years ago. P43 heating entire house, 79.5 in stove room, 72 to 75 in all other rooms including upstairs, small house :)

Temp is -9 here, up the hill from Keene NH. Stove is keeping it at 70.

-10 here, Austroflaam just past 1/3 way up. 72 downstairs 70 upstairs. we might see -20 tonight.

Our low...- 15°

We're currently at -13, with a forecasted low of -19. House toasty as always. I love it.

-16f outside

Last night it got down to -22 here in Winter, Wisconsin. Sunday night it is forecast to be -40 with a high for Monday at -16. Pretty damn cold even for us northerners!

Almost 4am here, had to wake up to load some pellet's, on a 3 it sucks at least 2 bags a day, broke out the last of my 5 bag's of Somerset 2010 vintage.....like fine wine, 68 in living room, but surely alot colder rest of house, turned on a eletric heater on the far side kitchen

Sitting here in a t shirt, house is a toasty 74. Stoves are a blazin....

Warming trend after tuesday,40 for highs. Tuesday calling for 8 for a high. I dont ever remember a high temp that low in this area in my lifetime.

-7 here. The P61A is cranking away. Two bags a day with these temps. No frozen pipes this AM.

I remember back in the 60's and 70's when -10 to -15 was pretty much normal in the winter here

-10 here in my area now and the CF Pacific's with OAK are cranking out the heat.:ZZZ

My hat's off to you folks in Canada and the northern US. We think it's bad in the single (positive) digits here in sunny Philadelphia. I had a friend whose family once owned a auto / truck parts distributor in Canada. He said they used to get incredibly busy every time one of these cold spells set in, as metal and plastic parts on vehicles failed like crazy. Hope things are faring better for you folks.

I concur with your sentiments. It was -2 here (outside of Philly) overnight and I made some extra preparation to bring in another bag of pellets, turned up the radiant floor heat, and made sure all windows and doors were shut. About the coldest it gets here, and dang does it sting when you walk outside. The dog doesn't seem to take issue though. Cant imagine what -20 would feel like.

-7 here and it's 69 in Miami, there's probably some people that have there a/c on or fan's blowin in there windows.....insane!!
Wonder If can you buy pellet's in Florida?
